LAD my Cairn Terrier recently out on photographic assignment with me on Dartmoor. Most of the snow drifts he got carried through, but he posed on this one blocking the road to Bonehill with Rippon Tor in the back ground! This is the famous terrier starring in 'LAD THE DOG ' in the children's book series 'Rainbow and Her Farmyard Friends! Please take a look if you have or know children who love animals! https://www.traceyelliotreep.com/collections/books
Snowing here on Dartmoor again, while working on compiling another children's book about my four Dartmoor yearlings (one year old) had a play in the snow today!
Swaling takes place on Dartmoor before the end of March each year. If it stops raining long enough for the land to dry out a little, the farmers who have grazing rights on the moor burn off areas of gorse to make room for new growth for their livestock.
One hundred years ago, 800 ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand) cavalry made history, when they courageously charged with their horses through the desert and captured Beersheba in Palestine. It is know as the last successful cavalry charge in history. Photographing this reinactment set the stage for my own journey on horseback through Israel. Keep an eye out for my exciting new book which will be published later this year!
