B02. Riding by Faith across North America - Hardback Book

310 photographic pages. Size 225mm x 265mm. Hardback.

Tracey’s adventurous journey from Mexico to Canada across America began with a dream, playing cowboys and Indians as a child riding her pony on Dartmoor in south west England.

In this book, together with beautiful photographs, she gives an inspirational, informative and humorous taste of life in the American West past and present as she courageously travels with her two quarter horses, Smoky and Pistol.

They covered several thousand miles across desert, prairies, mountains and through the territory of snakes, drug smugglers, wild animals and extreme weather. By faith she lived her dream.

Review from The Daily Telegraph

Tracey Elliot Reep is a modern adventuress with a towering faith in God who travels by horseback and sets her sights on big goals.

She’s ridden alone across New Zealand, but this book traces her journey from Mexico to Canada with only her two horses Smoky and Pistol for company. She is an excellent photographer and this engaging account of her trip is illustrated by numerous wonderful pictures of the challenging terrain she encountered – snowy mountains, desert prairies, swollen river. What makes her journey more remarkable was the fact that she carried all her own kit including her tiny tent in which she camped out alone, much to the amusement of many of the Americans she met on her journey.

A beautiful account of the changing landscape of the United States this is also an inspirational book about following your dreams and proof that even in today’s world there are still plenty of big adventures to be had.

“After the dryness of Texas and New Mexico it was refreshing to hear the gushing water in the creeks as we followed the Rio Grande the United States third largest river to its source in the San Juan Mountains. I had crossed the same river on the border of Mexico far down its 1,800-mile journey towards the Gulf of Mexico. Its a river that has always been important for wildlife travellers and settlers. Pueblo Indians based their agriculture on irrigation water from the Rio Grande long before the Spanish colonists arrived in Colorado in the 16th Century.”
