Backup of About Tracey

Tracey Elliot-Reep grew up on her mother’s Shilstone Rocks stud farm in South West England.  She now has her base producing cards, calendars and books in Widecombe-in-the-Moor on Dartmoor. After completing art college she worked and sketched the animals in a travelling circus and then travelled through Europe and North America, teaching horse riding before qualifying as a photographer in South Wales. For five years she worked as a freelance photojournalist for magazines, during which time she interviewed Royalty at Buckingham Palace, and she rode the length of New Zealand.

She started her card business twenty-seven years ago with six local Dartmoor postcards while living in a caravan with her dog. Her faith and her love of horses, adventure and photography has given her opportunities to travel to many places including Africa, Tibet, Israel and Russia.

Tracey has ridden horses from the top of Scotland to Lands End, around Southern Ireland and Wales, from Mexico to Canada, across Southern Europe and more recently around Israel, where she photographed the re-enactment of the charge of Beersheba, commemorating the one hundred year anniversary.  She has documented these adventures in five beautiful photographic books.

The first was the original New Zealand book, followed by the Ireland story on her Highland ponies.  Riding by Faith Across America is about Tracey’s exciting journey riding her two Quarter horses from Mexico to Canada. Due to the New Zealand book’s popularity she has recently released is a new edition, which included an additional ride on her Palomino horses.

Tracey has thoroughly enjoyed compiling her Shaggy Sheep book and using her favourite photographs she published the new edition of The Dartmoor Pony book which is proving to be very popular!

More recently Tracey's has embarked on publishing early learning children's books. Including two boxsets 'Rainbow and her Farmyard Friends' and 'Puppy Dog Stories.' As these have proved so popular she is now compiling her new boxset called 'On The Farm.' Rainbow, Tracey's Dartmoor Pony now has her second book in print 'A Day on Dartmoor with Rainbow the Pony.'

“I believe the word enthusiasm has its roots in the combination of two Greek words meaning “God within”.  Your passion for photography and horses underscores your enthusiasm.” DM, California
