Tibet
On the roof of the world, we travelled for
three weeks west along dirt roads, slept in basic shelters with
temperature dropping to minus eighteen, with no running water,
toilets or heating, except my water bottle in a sock I filled
with boiling water in the night and drank in the day!
A great adventure photographing colourful
Tibetans in their interesting culture all set in a huge and
spectacular country verged on the south by the magnifient Himalaya
range. We scrambled up to heights of over nineteen thousand
feet and gasping for breathe I photographed pilgrims doing the
kora around Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, nomads with
their laidened yaks and Everest in the moonlight.
